How often should I wash my topper or wig?Updated 6 days ago
Less is more when it comes to caring for your piece. Because your topper or wig doesn't receive the natural oils produced by your scalp, washing it too often can dry out the hair and shorten its lifespan.
We recommend washing your piece every 4-6 weeks, or as needed based on how often you wear it.
When it's time to wash:
Gently shampoo the hair.
Apply conditioner and let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly with cool to cold water.
Finish with a leave-in conditioner and heat protectant before styling.
For the best results, use only sulfate-free and alcohol-free hair care products, such as our Lauren Ashtyn Collection or Moroccanoil product lines. We also recommend avoiding volumizing products and hair powders, as they can dry out the hair and affect the quality of your piece.
With the proper care routine, your Lauren Ashtyn Collection piece can remain beautiful for years.
